Re: DIY programable option: CSL launch control and shifting (CSL SMG software)

Sorry if it's already be discussed, but can anyone describe the steps to revert the SMG tune back to stock, non-csl?

My guess is that I follow the same steps as described in the PDF(including the extra step about copying the data\gdaten\ folder mentioned in the OP), using winkfp. And for the step saying "Click Enter ZUSB and enter 7843255", I just need to enter a different ZUSB value? Other than that, the rest of the steps are the same.

Does that sound correct? If so, what's the value I need instead of 7843255? I'm just talking about reverting the SMG tune, disregarding the DME portion.

With the CSL flash, is the car supposed to rev match on every downshift?

My car will only rev match if I have foot on gas, and even then itís a shitty rev match. If I downshift while braking, the car wonít rev match. Iíll have to check which version my car has, but it definitely has a CSL flash, given the 5k RPM launch control and that it starts in D in 3/5 shift speed setting.

You need to do the dme parameters to get the rev matching.

Oof, won’t be able to do that since the ECU is locked due to the Epic tune.

Finally flashed this successfully!

I was getting the "error 701" and after hours of searching and reading post and installing and uninstalling software I figured it out. That error is misleading because it told me it couldn't find my car's HW number and pointed me to the the folder konv.tmp in EC-APPS/NFS/DATA and not the gdaten folder.

Here's how I did it.

I used BMW standard tools 2.10.0 with WINKFP 5.2.1 (setup_2100.zip) and E46 V41 Daten files (SP-daten-E46.rar).

I followed all the steps in the PDF file, but in addition to that I copied gdaten folder from the E46 v41 Daten files over the gdaten folder in EC-APPS/NFS/DATA, make sure all the files are overwritten. Then I edited the SGIDC.AS2 in the gdaten in notpad by deleting the line that is very long that starts with "$K LMV_84"

After that it was a price of cake, it flashed in less than a minute. The transmission light came on during the flash, but after I turned off the car and waited around 10 minutes and turned on the car, the light was gone.

I noticed right away when I put the car in gear that it went into "D" mode, which was a good sign that it flashed successfully. Then I tested launch control, and thankfully it rev'd to around 5000 rpms!

If anyone needs help, I'm in the Los Angeles area located in Torrance.

Hi,

I had the same problem as you, but I solved it in a different way.
I completely removed the file "SGIDC.AS2"

The whole procedure went well :) And working...

But...

Someone knows what this file "SGIDC.AS2" is needed for ?

Could something go wrong without this file "SGIDC.AS2" ?
