Default High mileage M3

Hey question for you guys. I found a high mileage 02 M3. It has a 6 speed with the "sports package" (I would like to hope so.) Navi and such for $19k. What I want to know is this a good deal? It will see the track maybe twice a year. Will it hold? Is the price too high? TIA

Default >100K on 2003 M3

I bought a 2003 M3 SMG with exactly 101,029 Miles on it about 3 months ago. Of course the owner was the 1st and only owner, had full warranty up to 100K miles, did all inspections on it, and was local. Plus I was able to get all the service records from BMW of Bakersfield (which included the rod bearing engine swap recall!!! after he had 30K miles; so the motor only has 70K on it).
I paid exactly 19K and needless to say, the car runs amazing and I feel I got a great deal. So far the only thing wrong with it is the yellow oil indicator light coming on sometimes; the dealer and the previous owner told me to just add a little oil because the sensors are super sensitive. It did the trick!
So my advice is if it feels right, (everything is in order, no hidden problems) then go for it!

Actually your motor has 101,029 on it. The rod bearing recall does not make the motor have any less miles.

Not trying to thread hijack, but in a similar position. I found one myself with the color combinations and options I want. it's got 72K on the odo and is going for 23K, or there abouts. You're saying if it passed the PPI, go for it, no worries?

I think it's an 02 model, might be 03. I forget right now...

I recently (5 mos) bought an 02 with 56k on it for $22. I did end up with a few surprises (search by my user name) but I'll be honest, mechanically its been solid and I have absolutely no regrets. By far the best car I have ever owned. Plus the panty dropping option is awesome.

No...the only reason an engine would be replaced is if there was total failure.

The recall only involves the connecting rod bearings, oil pump and software updates.
