Default UUC MAGNUM KNOB w/UUC EVO lll,DSSR & stitched boot

I kept the stock knob originally because I did not want to change the look-Even though from experience I knew a weighted knob would improve shifter feel

This is the UUC RK MAGNUM 9oz brushed aluminum knob, with a stitched boot

What an improvement in shifter feel

Smooth as can be transmission combo:

UUC EVOlll
UUC DSSR
UUC MAGNUM KNOB
REDLINE D4 ATF
UUC CLUTCH LINE
CDV DELETE
:thumbsup2

Does the added weight of the shifter increase micro-fractures?

I read that you should never hold the shifter since this would impede the shifters natural vibrations, which in turn increase the 'micro-fracture rate'; this would hold true to any force which impedes this vibration.

But I could be TOTALLY WRONG

Either way, I'm sure it is MUCH EASIER to shift; enjoy it!

The added weight in not going to increase wear- if you were to hold tension meaning while driving you are pushing the lever forward or backward you can prematurley wear out synchonizers

i have been driving manual for years and my hand is always on the shifter especially when spirited driving occurs-never had any tranny micro-fracture failures
There is a difference between having you hand on the shifter and forcing in a direction putting un necessary pressure on the internal transmission parts

knob looks like a light bulb!

was the UUC clutch line just a throw-in piece or did you have good reason to replace it?

Well if you have big hands its all good- I did'nt realize what a mickey mouse knob the stock one was till I changed it.

Steel braided line has less flex improved fluid flow- similar to upgrading stock brake lines.

I kinda like it. Problem is with a metal shifter is that when your car is sitting in the baking hot sunlight, the shift knob gets hotter than h*ll, which is not very comfy to grasp and shift gears with on a baking hot day. You might want to consider getting an oven mitten!

The simple trick is throw a hat/baseball cap over it.... It gets cold in the winter too but warms up quick.....

UUC designed it with a special insulator so the transmission heat does not find its way up and make it too hot for normal driving
