Default HPF discussion thread split

Alright, so let me just say one thing, I am partial to no one, I am just doing my own research. So please don't ban me for asking why was HPF not allowed to be a sponsor or post technical details about their kits? I'd like to be able to compare everything.

long story, but if you want plenty of info on their kits, you can venture over to "that other forum" as well as bf.c if you have not already.

When they were first developing the kit, they tried to become a vendor, but the person in charge of that for M3F was either AWOL or didn't want to approve a vendor before a product was available (for fear of selling vaporware). HPF continued to post updates against the wishes of the forum (as well as post responses to criticism from people skeptical of HPF's claims -- of which there were plenty here). This violated the rules and they were banned.

HPF continued to try and become a vendor and in the meantime a bunch of new members began popping up and asking questions about HPF products. Some of those were likely legit, but many of them were admittedly from a former HPF employee doing the shill routine. M3F moderators began to crack down hard on anything that might possibly promote HPF while allowing people to post all sorts of stuff that seemed to discredit them (HPF & the missing rod etc). HPF wasn't getting anywhere trying to get vendor approval, so HPF offered to pay the moderators just to allow them to post. That was seen as a bribe and combined with the shill -- effectively killed any chance of HPF ever being allowed here.

Things quieted down for a while as more owners got the kit (occasional flame wars aside) and hpf owners were pretty much free to post about their cars & kits without extra scrutiny. Then more recently some former VF/current HPF owners began to show a clear agenda (as evidenced in this thread) and M3F has again started to crack down on anything that might be seen as promotional towards HPF

it needs to be clarified that the respectful hpf owners have been free to post what they want about their cars and experience.

the same goes for owners of other kits. the key word here is respectful. well, there's that and posting something with evidence or of substance.

there are quite a few folks in this section who are "well known" as hpf owners.

then again, most folks click through this section and read what they wanna, believe what they wanna, etc. as i mentioned before, for those who want "limitless" and "uncensored" hpf info, there is that other forum as well as bf.c.

You are wrong. I have posted twice information about my HPF car, both times my threads were removed, and once I was given an infraction. I am nothing, if not respectful. Although, I have a low post count I am longtime member of this board. I was definitely shocked that both my threads containing HPF material were removed, and even more surprised regarding my infraction.

then i stand corrected.
i was not aware that your posts were removed nor that you received an infraction.

while i am not here to defend or justify anyone's actions, i figure the mods (in their minds) had their reasons.

This post is such a perfect example, among many others, of why HPF is unwelcome on our site. It couldn't be more ridiculous, ignorant, immature and an outstanding display of the total lack of integrity, morals, ethics and levels some people are willing to stoop to to smear the staff of this board and it's sponsors. I'm going to enshrine this post here to bear witness in perpetuity.

For me personally, it is especially a joke. The only person who has anything to do with this board that I have talked to on the phone is HecDog, a couple of years ago, and the only member I have personally met is Leo Nutz at BMW M division for a preview of the E9X M3 in April 2007, two people I highly regard and respect.

Now I will admit for the first time in public that 3-4 years ago I did send HecDog a Euro BMW fire extinguisher and first aid kit for under his front seats, and I did absolutely refuse any payment therefor, however it had absolutely no influence on his attitude toward me whatsoever.

On the other hand, in my entire time on this board I have received exactly one offer of bribery to look the other way and allow a non-sponsor to promote his products on this board, and that was from Chris007, which I kindly refused in the form of permanently banning him from the board, which I surmise he didn't take to well because he has been trying to take revenge ever since.

I think intelligent and mature people who have taken the trouble to diligently follow events here in F/I can make up their own minds as to what has gone on in the foreground and underground and the reasons therefor.

For those who wish to continue making fools of themselves, smear us and our sponsors and attempt to belittle our upstanding members,

Mspired is now left with a malfunctioning engine because of VF and they have completely ignored him about it.

I was banned here at Niks request. JohnT banned me even though I could prove I was on a plane. He proof..same IP address as another member. Of course it is the same IP address, starbucks free wifi would show this. Even after multiple people came forward stating they knew me and Bryan. I was still banned, even after I posted my boarding pass proving I was on a plane. You guessed it my screen name was maxxpsi. I am sure this user name will be banned the second it is seen my a mod.
