Default NCRC versus NASA Experiences?

I've always run with NASA but considering a track day with NCRC ... anyone had any experience with NCRC and NASA?

How do they compare?

I'm comfortable running HPDE-3 with NASA, but the groupings are different for NCRC ... not sure what I should be signing up for since the descriptions sound not too much alike either ...

Also are they a good group? Are their events organized?

Thanks!

mikymu has and he despises NASA due to the negative experience at infineon few years ago.

HPDE 3 in NASA is equivalent to NCRC point-by group. I've never run with NASA, but in NCRC, they stress that in point-by group, if someone gives you the point-by you must take it.

i like NCRC because it's cheaper than most and still safe and well organized.

so if you don't take it, do they flag you down?

lol that's so much pressure, I want to pass when I want to pass, not because I might be tailing or following someone's line to get the line ...

i really hate that point by rule that ncrc has. people kept pointing me by at the huge banked sweeper at sears point in the wet. everytime I was thinking omg please dont let me die. then there was that jackass in the mustang that gave me the point by to the left, 200 ft before the corkscrew at laguna seca. good times!

lol which is why I guess I'm not running nor perhaps ever running point by group with NCRC

I'm much more comfortable with HPDE-3; especially when you do two day and they slowly open up the track to full track passing throughout the day and the next day.

and usually the 2nd day there are FAR less people

You will love NCRC. No worry there. Sign up with point by and you will be fine. Edwin is ready to mix with the bad boys at NCRC's advance group but he is being humble and stays with point by

haha but I don't want to get into a situation like one of the posters said where they get pointed by at some awkward place and they HAVE to take it. it just seems odd ... I'm totally uncomfortable with that

NCRC is a great group to run with. Well organized but relaxed. If you're holding up traffic you WILL be black flagged with this group.

If your with someone and don't want to pass then everyone needs to have their light on. Station works will know you guys are together...
