Default Quiet exhaust options?

I've got an Ireland Engineering catback on my car right now and it's a little loud for my taste. It sound about the same as the UUC system U but a little quieter. I still have the stock exhaust but really don't want to put it back on, it's too fat and heavy. When i want to drive fast i don't want my wife to notice . Right now every time i hit the gas it's like i'm announcing to the world that i'm about to speed. What i'm looking for is something really subtle, i don't care if it isn't any louder than stock but i still want the weight savings.

the rsc36 exhaust is quiet at cruising, but very loud when you punch it

It sounds like you are looking for something that is always relatively quiet, hopefully someone else will chime in with a thought

I have a Borla exhaust and it purrrs! It growls when you get on it. I love the sound of the motor over my exhaust.

Borla is WAY to noisy...

Default RSC36

...is in no way quiet. Idling in an underground garage it sounds like there's gonna be a fight. Blipping the throttle used to set off my neighbour's Cayman's alarm.

It sounds to me like you really just want the sound of the stock exhaust. If you really want to drop the 15-20 lbs, get a LTW battery and pull off some interior bits from the car you don't need (trunk trim or carpet).

Remus exhausts are very quiet at idle and they have a deeper tone when you're cruising. I used to have one on my last M3 and i loved it. Look into it

I'd go with a Stromung exhaust. It is close to stock and from the exhausts I've heard on our cars is the quietest aftermarket (but i haven't heard them all in person). Plus it only weighs 24lbs, which if I remember correctly is on the lighter side when it comes to exhausts for our car.

I'm planning on getting an exhaust in a month or so and thats the one I'm going to get. Plus they have good customer service and overall are some cool guys to talk to on the phone.

Good luck with the choice!
