PCA Schattenbaum: Watkins Glen 9/27 & 9/28

I was wondering if anyone from here is planning on attending this event. I think PCA Schattenbaum is one of the best clubs to run with and seems to be a favorite of many of the trackers on this forum. Always get lots of track time with them and usually their events are structured very well. As of now I am planning on attending this event but I have not yet officially signed up. From what I hear this is the premier track in the NE. Below is information that I have knocked off from PKumarM3's post for the same event last year, I just updated the dates and the link. Also prices quoted below are for those people that choose to mail in their check to the registrar for PCA Schattenbaum.

Price: $315 for 2 days for instructed drivers / $295 for solo drivers /$140 for instructors. This is a great price.

Details: Create a user name and password. Sign up for the event. Your spot is not guaranteed until you pay them. This is a normal HPDE event, as in there will be classroom sessions for every group as well as instructors for beginners or those who have not been to The Glen.

What You Need
1) a bmw cca membership
2) a working car
3) all lug bolts on your wheels tightened up
4) a SA2005 Rated Helmet

Word to the wise: If this is your first or second time to the glen, HIGHLY choose to be a driver w/instructor. That $20 will be invaluable.

haha...my man Capo is going...i should be good to go for this event...im curious how my tires and pads are gonna hold up for all the events in aug..

im surprised your still on your nt05's, i think it's time to for you to move up to 01's hahah. Not 100% on going(it's a HIKE!) but def gunna try to make it, prob gunna trailer it if i do.

hahaha word....im gonna run the nt05's until i cord them and then move up to nt01 or ra1...you def need to make it to the glen...its a great track and def worth the 4+ hour ride...

anyone know if verts are allowed? I'm in ithaca, about 20 minute drive to watkins, and would love to go too.

I think you need a rollbar per the regulations:

# All open cars, including Cabriolets and Boxsters, must have an approved roll bar mounted at least two inches above the driver’s helmet. This also applies to the passenger side if the car will be used by a student and instructor. (Until an approved after-market solution is found, many Boxsters with taller drivers will not meet the requirement and not qualify for participation.). Roll extensions for Boxsters are available from Brey-Krause.

# All open cars, Targas and 914’s must run with tops up unless they have a full roll cage.
