Default Exhaust need a tune?

I just purchased an 03 m3 and I just noticed the car has an exhaust system on it. Looking under the car it at least has it from the back of the header. I can't tell if it has a full header exhaust or not. It is a magnaflow system and everythign else appears to be stock. Is there anyway I can find out if it has a tune on it for this modification or does it not need a tune?

I'm certain all M3's have exhaust systems on them....

Are you asking if you need a new ECU remap tunning due to a new aftermarket exhaust?

You are reading it wrong.
"Is there anyway I can find out if it has a tune on it for this modification or does it not need a tune"

Clearly I'm asking about an aftermarket exhaust system.

Obviously you are.

but what "tune" are you asking about?

a "chip" or ecu remap or what?

I dont know how else to say it.. I bought a car with aftermarket exhaust on it.. when you put it on does it need a new tune to work correctly or can one just put the exhaust on and go... I dont want to drive a car that needs a tune for the exhaust if it doesnt have the tune. Hence why I asked about finding out if the car has a tune on it or not already. If it doesnt need a tune for it and the computer can adapt to such a small modification then I wont worry about it... looking for confirmation.

Clear enough?

You will be fine without a tune if it is just the exhaust system, unless you don't have cats. It will be better with a tune but you don't need it.

Like I said, you were asking for an ECU tune.

You do not need one for an exhaust.
Unless you get like a Dinan exhaust and you can get the corresponding tune software

Chances are that the entire system, minus the headers, is Magnaflow since their system is one of the few "catbacks" on the market for these cars and you can't easily mix/match Magnaflow pieces with others. The nice thing about that system is the claimed 26lb wieght loss. You don't need a tune.
