Default OEM roof rack for vert hardtop Help!

I've been searching the net and calling stealers with no definative answers to this question....is the rack for the the coupe/sedan E46 (Part#82-71-0-142-220) the same rack that fits on the hardtop for verts? I've even tried Thules rack builder on their site and there is no convertible rack option.

I don't know what the part you posted is, but the roof rack is the same part number for E46 coupe/sedan/convertible and E39.

Sorry I can't be more help, I never looked into the OEM kit that much because it's too expensive and BMW pissed me off, lol.

When I called BMW to ask them for a convertible roof rack they basically called me stupid and told me that the hard-top doesn't have roof rack mounts.

I went to the Thule site and ordered the coupe kit and it fits 100%.

Sounds about right for the BMW parts counter... They remind me of a "box of rocks"

does anyone know if Yakima makes feet that fit the E46 M3? I have an old roof rack that would be great if I can re-use it on this car.

thanks,
