Default Valve Adjustment by Playskool!!

After having my 02' M3 for about 7 years, I was contemplating whether I should get rid of it. The last straw for me was when I went to couple of indy shops here in Fresno, Cali for a valve adjustment and I was blown away for how much they quoted me!! I even dropped the price for what I was asking so the new owner could afford to get this done! The night before I was about to show the car to a potential buyer, I saw a thread from this dude named "playskool" who mentioned he does inspection II"s, vavlve adjstuments, and suspensions. I pmed "playskool" and within a day we had a date set to get the car fixed. I was going to drive to meet him a couple hrs north in Sac.
I took my car yesterday , 10/2, to Sac and dropped it off to Ray. While he working on it, I took off to watch some college fb games and have a couple of beers(didn't drive of course ). 3 hours later, I came back and he told me he'd adjusted 21 out of 24 shims!! He also installled the Koni Yellows, and H&R front sway I brought along all within that time frame!!
Ray not only knows his stuff, but the guy is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet!! This is in addition, by the way, to the fraction of the price he charged compared to the stealership and indy's. If you're about a couple hours away from sac and need to get stuff done to your M, I def recommend getting in touch with him. He'll end up saving you tons while making sure it's working right!!

Yea I would have done all 24 shims but the 3 were already at minimum spec on the intake side.

you want minimum at the intake side and maximum at the exhaust side right?

also, its okay to reuse the gaskets if they are pretty new, just gotta make sure you add the liquid gasket (yama whatever) stuff again

As long you're in between the range on both intake and exhaust side you are fine. But minimum to middle spec is best to keep getting out of spec. But I always aim for the minimum on both IN and EX.

Interesting... Valve Adjustments are suppose to be done with the engine cold (Sat Overnight). Since your car was still warm, I'd think that has something to go with the number of shims being replaced.
