Well my car has been in the shop 3 weeks now.
It turned out that in 2004 the first time they did welding on the rear trailer arm (where it mounts to the car) that it looked great from the outside but inside water was trapped and it rusted out even worse. That whole section tore out when they tried to reconnect to it after other restoration was done. They (Stett Performance Plano, TX) had to cut the whole rear drivers quarter out and rebuild it. Then they could weld reinforcement plates to that, then connect the (new) trailer arms, RTAB's, spacers, new rear H&R springs (which I had and were free to install), and new RSM's (which also required some welding and restoration). Any more rear end work would require the TSA. I'm thinking it should handle a little better now. I wondered if anyone else had this issue yet or I am continuing to pioneer new problems? |

I'm pretty sure rust happens to most cars from the North.
If you haven't had to deal with rust and welding, you might soon. No pictures but I saw them under there with the torches yesterday. |
