Default Does anyone have experience with this radar detector?

http://www.buyradardetectors.com/pro...RX75-Plus.aspx

I picked up one of these a couple of years ago for a price much cheaper than what is now listed. I haven't seen any threads about these on any of the forums that I visit. Has anyone else used one?

I wouldn't recommend it as it's outdated and the laser jammers aren't that great. If you want GREAT protection, get a V1 paired with Laser Interceptors. This combo is as good as it gets and its much cheaper than the RX75. Let me know if you have any questions, I know a good amount about radar detectors and jammers.

Well I already have this one, should I sell it? I don't have much into it as I traded some MB parts for it and I got it for about 40% retail. I could always throw it on ebay.

+1 to this. Words of wisdom right here.

I would sell it, pocket some cash and spend the rest of it on the combo above. I have the same V1+LI system in my car.

^ Not really.

If you are looking for maximum sensitivity, get a V1.

If you are looking for excellent false filtering (via GPS), get a 9500xi.

If you are looking for stealth (Canadians/VA/DC users), get a Redline (or STi-R if money is NO object).

As far as laser jammers go, the only ones you should bother with are the Laser Interceptor. And make sure you get your setup tested (NOT by an LEO), I've seen some HORRIBLE jammer installs, even on this forum.

Good luck.

Good luck.

What about the Redline make them so good for stealth? Is it any better than remotely mounting a Valentine One?

I've seen a ton of false hits on V1s in DC/Northern VA so a 9500xi doesn't seem so bad, but I don't know anyone with one that can give me a comparison.

The STi-R seems pretty awesome but certainly not cheap.

The redline uses an M3 (not the car) antenna which is immune to Spectre RDD equipment. The only products that use the M3 antenna are the Redline, STi Driver, STi-R, 9500ci.

Spectre RDD is not widely used (but they are in some VSP cars here in VA) in the US - more in Canada, but they are still around. Simply stated, a cop can use the Spectre RDD (radar detector detector) to detect cars which have radar detectors in them. Most radar detectors (except the ones listed above), including the V1, are vulnerable to this because they are superheterodyne receivers, and superheterodyne leaks from the device. The Spectre tunes into this frequency. The M3 antenna does not leak superheterodyne, and is therefore immune to RDD.

If money was no object, I would get an STi-R (or STi-R Plus), then a 9500ci, then a Redline and lastly, an STi Driver.

As far as mounting goes, you can get creative with any device. As long as its not obstructed by *metallic* objects, or anything that can interfere with radar detection, it can be hidden. My Redline is hidden behind a few layers of fabric; its completely invisible to both the naked eye, and RDD equipment.

Like I said, the amount of Spectres in VA is rather low, but they do exist. The Redline is very very close to the performance of the V1.

When I made my decision on what I wanted to buy, I figured... an RD is supposed to prevent you from being pulled over, if that one time I get picked off by Spectre, it has failed to do its job.

Hope this helps.
