My windows on both side drop down when you open the door... However when you close it, they are starting to raise up over the seal leaving a 1/4" to 1/2" gap and not properly sealing. All I have to do is lower the windows and raise them up to fix the prob. Anyone seen this before?

If i understand what your describing yes!
So the glass is popping out and over the channel its supposed to tuck into?? there is and adjustment that will bring the glass closer to the center of the car(does that make sense) and make it stay in the right place when you close the door. send me ur email and i will send you the info on adjusting the glass

I need that too, I had to replace the driver's window on mine and now it doesn't go in right.
It used to work fine with the soft-top, but not with the hardtop... I've adjusted heights and slid it forward and back like 4 times already. What's the proper way to get it to push in? |

Take a look at the attached... There are a bunch of adjustments for the glass.
You are looking for the section about pretension basically there is a eccentric on the rear glass to regulator mount and by turning it tilts the glass inward If anyone has any questions, dont hesitate to ask.. RA Adjusting front left or right door window glass (coupé, convertible).pdf

for whatever reason, the problem is almost nonexistent since i replaced my car battery -- not sure if it was somehow linked, but the problem went away on its own after the battery replacement (and the problem was there for months)

Is there anyway to adjust the glass out? My rear window (vert) on my passenger side, has got a gap on the outside of the glass, where the glass meets the rubber trim. So any water running down the face of the glass, will run into the mechanical spaces in the side wall.
I started a thread about this issue, but didn't find an answer. http://m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=344246 |

Thanks a bunch for posting the guide. I didn't even know about the two torx bolts from the bottom of the door, so this was very informative!
I spent three hours yesterday tinkering with it and still couldn't fix it. My problem seems to be that every time I open the door, the window lowers a different amount. One time it'll lower 5mm, one time 10mm, one time 15mm, different every time. So sometimes the window closes and sometimes it doesn't... I am lost... Could it be the window actuator messing up? |

The Regulator is probably at fault if the window drop is inconsistent. If you push up/down on the glass does the glass move or stay in place?? It should be pretty firm.
It sounds like you have some slop somewhere.
