I haven't had that issue myself but have seen a few threads on the topic.
This is a recent thread that might help you out. Couple of people seemed to be having the same issue as you. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...=adjust+ebrake |

Yes, the cable is adjustable, but it can only be stretched so many times before it will need to be replaced. You'll most likely just need to turn the adjusting nut. Highly unlikely that the ebrake pads will need replacement.

You will need to adjust the shoes, which is simple and will solve your problem. I had the same issue, and used this DIY as a guide.

Success!!!
Yesterday, after scuffing up the back yard and laying down some scotts EZ (sick and tired of hearing the commercials & scotts better come thru) I tackled my E-brake on my Vert. Followed the DIY link to a "t". Now, i have 3 "clicks" on the E-brake vs 9 clicks. ![]() Feels good fixing stuff in my drive away with out paying stealer ridiculous amount of $$$'s.

Just needs to be adjusted, I think a 100-250$ at a dealer. Just some labor time.
