High Mileage

Any buddy experiencing high mileage with there E46 Im looking to get one and i was interested in feed back do to the 4000-5000 miles a month I drive

Any buddy have experience with the associated costs.

And typical annual costs

Does upgrading horsepower decease longevity

It all depends on the manner the car is driven and how the car is maintained.

yea if you drive it slow and never break the 5k RPM mark, then the car will most likely incur some accelerated wear and tear. Dog and thrash it, and you'll enjoy a long lasting durable vehicle.

get extended maintence and warranty (which are different BTW) and you should be fine.

I have to say, a high mileage s54 would concern me. That is such a high strung engine, I just don't believe its going to last like prior M engines. Its hard to say, but for one thing the s54 definately hasn't been proven as a trooper. I would also, if you are looking at used cars, stay away from the 01 model year.
