Hey guys,
I have an SMG and since i have owned my M i have never tracked it. It does make me sad in a way because m3 is a really track oriented. My question to those that have any experience with tracking their SMG. How reliable is SMG for the track? I do not want to complete 2 track days and for example have my SMG die out on me. Pump or etc.. I also feel more at ease now since i have read a thread in the e46 m3 general section about SMG to 6mt conversion. Cost 800 bucks if you do it yourself about 2 grand if you give it to the shop. It makes me feel a bit happier knowing that, because if my SMG fails i will gladly install the 6mt in there. But from those that track their SMG how reliable is it on the track? and obviously how fun is it compared to the 6mt on the track. Thank you in advance guys, I am just doing some research as a this point i am deciding if i should sell my car for a 6mt or just slap coilovers on and hit the track. ![]()
