Hey guys,
I tried searching the forums about this but I can't seem to find any information about the battery indicator going off when new angel eyes are installed. I installed some Orion V2s from Umnitza on sunday and drove fine until today. The battery indicator came up red and isn't going away. I also installed a new battery (Walmart Everstart on Saturday) and just doubled check to see if anything was loose. I can't put my finger on the issue. Only thing I'm seeing on the forum are alternator issues. My car has 40,000 miles on it so I didn't expect the alternator to give out on me this early. Has anyone else run into this issue when installing angel eyes? I fear that if i take it to a shop that they'll charge me for a simple loose wire or pay the $250 deductible for my warranty. I'm going to Advanced Auto Parts to get my voltage check soon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to be the day for people breaking their cars installing Angel eyes (vastly overdone IMHO..)
I'd be looking for what wire you left loose or knocked loose. The coincidence of the alternator failing at the same time as your installing electronic gee-gaws is really pretty slight, unless you badly screwed up (were there any sparks? Smoke? Heat?) If you can't find it - then it's off to the shop with you. There is no standard failure mode for screwing up an installation - people do it differently.

This quote is going in for sure! LMAO!
Quote:
1. Always look to what changed last if any work was done to your car (or washing machine or .... anything mechanical, or involving software or programming). 2. Consider reversing the install. a) removes the possibility that a defective component involved in the install is at fault. b) allows you to look for install mistakes, nicked wires or incompletely insulated connectors, and the like. Tedious, but extremely effective. ADS
