- motorist runs off road, hits cyclist
- cyclist injured on side of road, motorist keeps going
- pulls over in a parkign lot 3 miles away and calls MB dealership asking to fix mirror
- later says new car smell of his 2010 MB caused sleep apnea
- gets a suspended 90 day jail sentence

please discuss (maturely)
this is a real travesty, but the real problem here is not so much the collision and the subsequent run, which happens all across america, but the problem is the DA over there basically saying, you're rich , so Im going to treat you different....it doesnt go down like that everywhere.

I do the same as you.

I have a cousin, he was riding in some mountain area in UT in the 70's. Vietnam vet, Green Beret, survived amazing things....

He got hit by a car up there and it literally tore off his arm. He was incapacitated on the ground for awhile..

The sad thing is how many cars passed him until one car finally stopped and rushed him to a hospital. He lost , crap I forget how many qts of blood, but the doctors said that if it wasnt for his amazing health/fitness, most people would have died.

He now only has one arm. I feel horrible he lost it for a hobby. I keep it it mountain bike riding.

mountain biking ftw...

Rather deal with trees and windy trails than people on the road.

Also the mtn biking gear is much more comfy... no spandex ftw

it's fine wearing padded spandex crash-pads under shorts/pants for mtn biking. But I couldn't bring myself to wear spandex on the road... just gotta draw the line somewhere for myself.

If you're on the right mtn biking course you'll get just as good a workout in the back country as you would on the road.

you don't find it comfy? maybe you tried on some bad fitting clothes, most athletes (nba nfl nhl etc) wear compression clothing underneath their uniforms i personally like the feel of it.
