Default Check Control Module By-Pass

I was extremely grateful for the advice given here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...hlight=lbf+fix when I installed HIDs and kept getting a low beam failure message. After I had installed Depos in the rear I then started to get similar messages for the tails and stop lights (LEDs) and wondered if there was a similar solution. After studying the wiring diagrams, I came up with a similar solution to by-pass the CCM and avoid all those error messages.

Follow the advice given in the thread above to by-pass the CCM on the low beam circuit. Next to the white plug to the CCM is a black plug. The white plug covers the front of the car, while the black plug covers the rear. You will be connecting together wires from both plugs, if you continue.

If you want to by-pass the CCM for the tail lights, cut the following wires from the plugs and join them together:

1. grey/white/yellow band + grey/blue/yellow band + grey/yellow

2. grey/violet/yellow band + grey/green/yellow band + grey/violet

The first connections cover the right cluster and the second connections the left cluster.

If you want to by-pass the CCM for the stop lamps, cut the blue/red (right cluster) and blue/brown (left cluster) running to the black plug and the blue/red running to the white plug and connect them together.

By carrying out the following procedure, you will avoid all those annoying error messages without losing the advantage of being warned when your washer fluid, coolant, etc is down.

I made solderd connections and finished off with heat-shrink, but you can do it however you like.

I'd rather disable the check control system through the software on the OBC than cut a single wire as a "fix".

On that note, I'd probably get OEM lighting first and not have to resort to such measures. LED E36 tails

well thats cool about getting the obc to shut up, but howabout making it stop with the brake light circuit failure? im really thinking its my aftermarket clear tail lights causing it not the brake light switch. my brake lights always work but i sometimes get the error ant its annoying to see the obc keep blinking at you.
