Help is easy... Replace the handle unit with the proper VERT unit from Tischer... (its a bit of a ***** though)

I have the box rom mine in the garage. I will get you the part number off that box tomorrow...

It it expensive to replace so i would look after by hand washing.

There are BMW products available to clean and re-waterproof the material.
Beside auto washes are going to rape your paint work

Default Re: Question on the Vert? Look here First.

For starters, thanks for hosting this thread!

The plastic fitting where the wind visor pops in on the inside side panels broke out. I got the replacement part from the dealer but it doesn't fit properly. The piece i got is correct but too small so should I glue it in place?

I have an 04 with LED tails. The passenger side tail light had to be removed at one time in order for PDR repair done last summer. Now there is condensation and water inside the fixture. How do I fix?

Lastly, its winter and way to cold to wash the car at home. I went to a car wash and the passenger side view mirror plate is loose. Is it broken and should I just get a replacement mirror plate? Is the install as easy as I think it is? Just pull the old piece out and pop in the new one?

TIA everyone!!

Young.

Okay, so I have had a number of problems with my top.

In May 09, I had the Hydraulic Motor, Relay and control module replaced when my top stopped working.

In April of this past year, I had to have the hydraulic motor replaced again.

Recently, I have had to mobilize the top a few times to remove and replace the baby seats (since they are tethered under the tonneau).

I recently removed the hardtop install kit to sell to someone who had brought their car up from the States. After we finished, I tried to raise the top again. It wouldn't even move. The tonneau had fallen down but was not locked down. Turns out, one of the wire harnesses that was left on the passenger side wasn't plugged in. I got in there and plugged it back in and the tonneau closed. Subsequently, I tried to close the top and it would not move again.

I used the instructions in the manual to disengage the top mechanism and closed it manually.

So my questions are 2 fold:

1. Why won't my top work?

2. Once closed manually, can the top mechanism be re engaged or do I have to go back to the dealer?

Admittedly, it has been cold here but not below -10C which is the temperature at which BMW recommends not operating the top.

Thanks.

DC
