Great thread. Going to tackle this project this coming weekend. Bot the repair kit from ECS...hopefully all goes smoothly.

Gonna tackle this mofo, tomorrow. Bot the two clips...$40!!, a Torx set and the SR repair kit...I HOPE I don't have to take out the cassette...hopefully just replacing the clips, wiper, cleaning out the track and reassembling will do it. Mine seems like the drivers side is 'locked up' or stuck...we'll see.

So we tore the SR apart to see what the issue was. I was having trouble opening closing AND tilting it up. It was almost like the drivers front side was jammed in position.
After taking it apart and inspecting things, all was in pretty good shape. The clips that hold the Sun visor on were in good shape and it was only missing 1 of the passenger side clips. Upon further inspection, we noticed the driver's side rail was broken. This now seems like only part of the issue. We could not get the drivers side of the SR to move in any way, shape or form. The passenger side moves up and down with no issues but this then tweaks the glass itself since the driver's side will not move at all. Back to the drawing board. We think that it might be faiure in the cable itself. This is going to require us to pull out the whole cassette. Will do some further searching to see what the deal is... |
