To get rid of it for the F/I'd one, no. Hell no.

Being first,

was the intention of this thread.

Personally I feel that if this M3 isn't lighter and doesn't deliver more steering feel then I would have no problem leaving NA for a car that is nothing other than a rebadged AMG.

It's not 1985 you know, turbo lag is pretty much a thing of the past except for the most poorly built cars. You know M won't have it. The M5 doesn't.
It does not matter if its 1985 or 2025, the fact remains that adding Turbo's will forever change the driving characteristics of the vehicle. Turbo Lag or not the Engine will behave differently.. especially since this is BMW just getting into turbo technology.

The F30 is 88lbs lighter than the E90, so..
Where did you weigh it? I was basing that statement off of a gut feeling so lets not take my statement too far now.

All I care about is an aggressive look and performance... if it doesn't make as much noise I couldn't give a ****. I'd like the noise, but it's not going to decide a vehicle for me.
This is personal opinion and personally i care about an aggressive look and of course performance, but if the noise is a giant vacuum cleaner in action then ill pass, it would annoy me too much.

furthermore a race car should sound like a race car in my book

This isn't the first turbo 3 series... they've had time to work out some of the bugs and I am quite sure the M version will be impressive... F10 M5. Nuff said. Smooth power delivery, no lag, and much MUCH faster than the E60.

I didn't weigh it. BMW did. It's in the specs.

Well the new M3 is likely going to be lighter and if the M5 is any indication a ****load faster. I personally don't care what it sounds like if I am blowing past NA cars on track. Regardless, I don't think it will sound bad at all. The M5 sounds great...

I believe you have left out the factor of Driver Skill.

I would lease it abuse it and give it back almost broken. Those turbos after a decent amount of miles will cause all sorts of woes.
