Mine finally started flaking. Any recent purchases?

Very cool. How does the factory knob come off? That image doesn't apear to have threads, but there doesn't appear to be any screws.

Literally just pull up haha. Takes some muscle, but it will come off.

Here is mine. Stock SMG knob, but I sanded the knob and SMG ring down to get a brushed finished.

m3freak86, that really turned out nice. nice work.
My opinion brushed is always a nicer look
Chrome is great, but to me brushed is smoother and more sporty

As for the rest, I have a couple of anatomic shaped knobs I am thinking about putting on QS. Just havent decided yet. One of them is a weighted knob, not that I really need it (but I guess coming from the old school racing mentality with 5-6MT setups and knowing how a weighted shifter helps.... I thought what the hell, plus it looks cool too)

The "chrome" needs to still be on the knob. If it's flaking off, you won't get the brushed look since it's like an off white plastic color underneath. Your best bet is to paint it if your finish is chipping off.
