E46 sunroof issues

Anyone had issues with their auto sunroof? Mine gets stuck about halfway and makes this god awful sound. I tried some WD40 (The old white trash trick) and it didn't help at all. It seems like the right (passenger side) of the sun roof is fine as it keeps going but gets stuck when the left side (drivers side) gets stuck. Any ideas for a quick fix or does this sound like major work. Can't seem to find anything on Google search.
