M-mode you get from having nav feature alone is worth it

I believe every single M3 right now has the M button, so you don't need the nav to get one.

OP, the disadvantage the nav has is that it ages quicker than the rest of the car. In 10 years the nav will seem prehistoric, whereas the car will still look fine.
If you plan to keep the car for a long time I'd say no. Otherwise it's just a matter of $$

id say no for the fact that the cost of the option doesnt make sense when you can buy a stand alone navi for a few hundred. also, even though i have a stand alone navi myself, i havent powered it on since i got my android phone.

I bought my car used without Nav and am glad I added an aftermarket Dynavin unit. I think it adds an uptick to the interior as it blends with the lines of the car.

I know my area pretty well so I don't rely on it that much. Verbal directions or a quick look at map beforehand are enough. The feature I use most is "History/Home" to get home if I am momentarily lost. It orients me quickly.

If I were buying the car new, I would get it.

I am glad I got it. I know there are probably better handheld units available, but, I prefer a factory integrated look and I would not put an integrated aftermarket unit in due to the complexity and potential warranty issues.

Yes! I think after market looks cheesy. Plus, the new idrive is awesome. Plus you get M mode

Oh ya, that sweet aluminum mouse thingy in the center console that controls just about everything in the car. Why wold you buy one without it?

I'm a huge fan of in dash navigation units. Prefer them over any handheld/smartphone any day. The fact that integrating an aftermarket unit is very complex on this specific car, I would, without a question, get the factory navigation if I was ordering the car new.
