Welcome to the boards. You'll learn a lot about your car here, and appreciate it even more.

Thanks all. It just rolled 118k. Every record since new. Whatever it needed it got. Seems to have had most of the typical issues taken care of such as cooling system, shock mounts etc. I doubt the oil pump nut has been done but I haven't been through every single receipt yet. It has the TMS Stage 1set up.
Currently experiencing window issues that, after some reading, I think may be related to the magnet in the motors. Seems as though they slide out of position and cause the windows to go up an inch at a time. It'll stay in the garage (currently under its car cover cause we're out of town) and won't be driven in crappy weather. I've had various sport(y) cars over the years but this one is special. I had an 81 911 that was a kick to drive but got crappy gas mileage and felt like a Cessna above 80mph. I love e30's and still have a very nice 325is. I think the progression to the e36 is perfect. Its like they read my mind. The added power and handling with the m3 is a bonus! They did it again! A car with adequate power and world class handling! |

The only way to fix that anti-pinch system (magnet??) is to glue it locked. Then it can pinch you good, if you don't watch it.
The proper fix is to get a new driver's (sedan right-front is the same) window motor and gearing (Part Number 67-62-8-360-978). You don't have to buy the whole regulator arm part. Just the motor and gearing assembly. You do, however, have to take the regulator off to put on the new motor. Read this thread. Almost anything you can think of has been covered here before. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=308938 Also, there are a dozen problems you haven't noticed yet.
