2 reasons Ed:
1: not familiar with the track so I didn't wanna kill myself
2: not available
Hey Ray:

1. I don't think that you would kill yourself, you're a pretty good driver.
2. That is a bummer.
3. I hope you had fun. You gotta show me some videos and pictures.

The nurburgring is awesome. I was there 2 years ago but it rained that morning and the company I reserved a car with (elise!) didn't let their cars out in the rain anymore...they started the season with 4 cars and were down to 2 . And after seeing the track I'm kinda glad. I would have been in trouble. I took pictures at one corner that had what looked like a 150 ft drop with a bump in the middle. In video games it just looks like a straight into a slight bend. But it looks like you did better than I did. And just driving on the roads in the towns is fun. Germany knows how to build a road for sure. I did however get the fastest times in all my gokart heats. Consolation prize I guess.

Yes the weather is horrible for summer ... It's a shame !
The track is awesome. There is one part on the track where you drop about 4 stories. It's scarier than the Laguna Seca drop because the drop on the Ring is after a straight. I only got 3 laps and that's way too short. I could have done 10 more but they closed the track down after the accident. If I was a local I would defenitly buy the yearly pass at 1400Eu. Way worth it.
The car sucked ass though. We are so spoiled with our cars but the Suzuki was good enough for a first time on the Ring.

It was a lot of fun Ali. Wish all you guys would have been there, it would have been more fun. I just wish I could've done more laps.

I had a blast Ed. I kinda wish I could have shipped my car over. I could've tested my top speed on the Autobahn. I'll post couple of videos when I get back next week. They wouldn't allow us to have video taping in the car but my cousin held one in his hand during couple of laps (the 1st and 3rd).

It would've been awesome if you could've come but maybe next time. Going to Paris on Tuesday. Maybe I'll pay a visit to your parents

It sure is one of the most challenging tracks in the world. It's nothing like the video game. The elevation changes are insane.
Unfortunately the weather is so erratic here but we got really lucky that the rain stopped in the afternoon. You defenitly need to go back and drive on the Ring. I can cross off one thing from my bucket list now.

Little unrelated to my journal but wanted to share some night time photos from Paris:

I'll post more pics of the ring and videos later.
Got me a little gift form their "DMV" as well.
They were so easy going. Went in there without any wait at all, and it took her 2 minutes to finish the plate.
Try going to any local DMV's here in CA.
