I am going to be changing out my belts soon and was looking to upgrade my belts to better quality/race ones to help minimize belt slippage with my supercharger setup. I am currently considering a Gates Blue Racing Micro-V belt.
I have a VF stage one S/C kit and according to VF, I need a belt that is 2065 mm long. Unfortunately, Gates does not have one at that exact length. So my question is, how much "variability" is there with belt length selection? I know the tensioners can account for some length differences, but how much before a belt gets either too long or too short for the tensioner to be effective? +/- 5mm? +/- 10mm? Something different? My assumption is it is better to go with a belt that is slightly shorter than longer, but it would be nice to know what an acceptable length range is.
