260whp awd turbo tuned @22psi w/all major upgrades daily driver/weekend track warrior. http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...dautosales.com CLICK TO VIEW M3 RED Purchasing this vehicle. This particular car is pre- reproduction that was introduced in 2008 owned by BMW as "auto showcar" later driver 27k miles by bmw coprate never registared by a civilian. In 2009 the car went back to Germany for saftey/emmisions standards to be sold in the US. The disclosure states $17 grand worth of airbag repairs and or replacemnt that had to be done(supposedly only too meet US specs.) DOES THIS SOUND LEGIT? Looking into this .... thanks in advance for your input. Last edited by mpowerbigpower; Thu, Jul-26-2012 at 02:06:39 AM. |

That's why I could never get the WRX... I had an STI, slightly conservative setup (3140 lbs, 300 WHP/340 WTQ).
Then I bought the E46 M3 and couldn't be happier; although, I do miss the AWD sometimes, mostly in the mountain areas in the winter (rain/snow). Make sure you check all the service records and get it checked out by an independent mech. Seems like a legit price, I'm sure you can bring them down though. I saw a 2008 E92 M3 (forgot where) going for just under 40k.

Nice stock sti makes 210whp sounds like a nice car.
This M3 has 27,000 miles only and it is was a pre- reproduction that was introduced in 2008 owned by BMW not a dealership and had to go back to Germany for saftey/emmisions standards to be sold in the US. The disclosure states $17 grand worth of updates that had to be done(supposedly only too meet US specs. Looking into this .... Last edited by mpowerbigpower; Thu, Jul-26-2012 at 02:08:01 AM. |

Actually stock sti tends to make around 230-250 whp, depending on dyno and conditions.
Definitely do your research! It looks like you're on the perfect route. Good luck and hopefully it works out for you.

Nice car.
As a side note to the Subie owners. 1986 RX7, 3200 pounds, 11's with the gen 1 sbc carbed option, N/A. Daily driver. Well, not so much since I bought the BMW. And I just love my bone stock '95 pristine M3 with only 107k. The LSx option will have to wait. |

Not getting how that relates to the subie owners in this thread? lol. A fun sounding car, though.

I am from Rochester, NY and Sutherland is one of the premiere used car dealers around here. They only sell Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Audi etc.
If they told you the story about corporate owning that car and never been registered, then it is probably true because they are located in a rich neighborhood and they can sell the car quick with a storyline like the one you mentioned...

I can vouch for Sutherland. I bought my '02 LSB/Cin convertible from them in June '09 and had it shipped out to CA. It had 45k miles on it when I bought it and looked pretty much new inside and out except for a little wear on the driver seat bolsters. Mine had a similar story actually. It was a pre-production car from Germany that was brought up to US spec and imported to the US later in it's life. I had it ppi'd at the local BMW dealer and their printout confirmed the info that Sutherland had given me. It's been a very solid car (except that it goes through salmon colored SMG relays about every 6 months) and the transaction was smooth. I would buy from them again- I think I dealt with Tony.
