Just replaced the vanos solenoid. It wasn't too bad. All that is left is for me to clear the codes and pray that they don't come back. Unfortunately i don't have a code reader on me at the time. So the engine light is still there.

EDIT*** Just reset the engine line. The code again was P0010 no other codes present at the time. Took the car for a spin no change car is idling better though.. Power is not back yet.
So my question is:
Is their a break in period for the car after the solenoid replacement? I did the repair on the sealing plate as well.. hmmm?

There is no break in period. Everything should work after resetting the codes.
P0010 is a vanos intake electrical code. Every case I've seen of this on an S54, and I've seen plenty, was caused by a failing solenoid.
Try spraying the electrical cable connector with electrical contact cleaner. Also check if any of the connector pins/wires have been pushed out the back of the connector. If so, push back in.

Ok i will give it a shot. The reason I was asking about a break in period was because of one the labels on the Bag of the New Rubber rings. It said it takes 200 miles to reach optimum performance or something along those lines

EDIT*** I pushed in the connector more.. I felt the change INSTANTLY. haha. My car is ALIVE now.

Thanks Rajaie.. I drove about 50 miles no light so far so good.. I will keep you updated. every now and then

Rajae have you seen issues with the connector plug to the solenoid. I am suspicous it may be my issue. i replaced my solenoid with a rebuilt one but am still getting the code. Sometimes rapidly after a start. If i take connector off and reattach pushing it in firmly i dont get codes(1525 and 0012 only) for a long time. Does anyone know how to take apart the connector plug?

^ Did you zip tie the connector back on? Like over the neck of the solenoid and the connector? I did that so that it wouldn't move or it would move very very little and so far after about 100 miles the light hasn't come back on. * Crossing my fingers ***

yes i zip tied it. i wonder if you can get P1525 and have it not be the solenoid or elctrical. could it still be a mechnical issue?

Rajaie - i have your revised vanos solenoid and it has been installed for about a few weeks and runs great. just today i've been getting SES codes. first came P1525. cleared the code. on next start up i got P0012. cleared it once again. and just now on my way home i got another SES code of P0011.

i do notice loss of power or during WOT that the car bogs/stutters a bit (it's like not getting fuel for a split second)

on a side note: i have pushed my harness plug until the sides clipped on and also zip tied the connector.
