Do I have to replace rotors with new pads?

E46 M3 (2001-2006) Engine: S54 - Max Hp: 333 hp at 7,900 rpm / 262 lb/ft at 4,900 rpm

My pad sensor light just came on so I'm due for pads, but can I change to Axxis Deluxes without changing the rotors, provided I bed them correctly? The car has only 35k on the odometer with the original brake components. Budget is an issue of course so I'm trying to do this the most cost effective way I can. Thanks!
