Default e-brake confirmation...

i called the dealer to get a quote on replacing the brake shoes cause my brakes were squeaking when brakes are applied to slow down. he said the brake shoes have nothing to do with the stopping of the vehicle. sounds right, but i just want to confirm.

also, i read in other posts that brakes do squeak but will disappear after aggressive braking. i tend to do aggressive breaking everytime cause they squeak everytime, and guam has a lot of traffic lights.

i also just changed my rear pads, my fronts have a lot of meat on them, and all my rotors look great. any info would be great thanks in advance!

break shoe is for the ebrak only. ur squeaking is is probably from ur front brake pads. do you have OEM pads ?

Just to be clear, your brakes are squealing when you slow down? What does that have to do with your e-brake?

Sometimes they just squeak, lots of friction and high vibrations going on. When I come to a slow stop braking, my front brakes will occasionally squeak. It can depend on the weather (cold/wet) but does not mean your pads are worn. My pad depths are all within spec and occasionally, it squeaks.
