Something that has frustrated me since I got my car was that the seatbelt chime sounds whenever I get in my car, even before I'm in motion. As in, I get in, turn on car, (it chimes at me), then I buckle up (which stops the noise if done quickly/before it stops), and then I drive off.
I used to assume this was normal, but the other day I was in Obioban's car and mentioned it... and it turned out that in his car it doesn't chime unless he drives without a seat belt on (as in, having the car on with seatbelt off alone is not enough, the car must be in motion). My car is an '02, his car is an '05. Is this something they changed over the years, a programmable option, or is something wrong with one of our cars? Note: I'm not trying to drive without a seatbelt - I *always* put it on before driving away. I'm just tired of being chimed at for starting my car before putting it on.
