Default 93 dme in a 95 m3?

My question is I want to get a chip for my car and i have a dme that came from a 93 e36, Would that mean I would have to get a chip for a 93 then? Thanks guys.............................Wait now that i think of it the dme 413 that i have is either from a 325i or a 525i but didn't these models have less horsepower !

So that would mean that I got the wrong DME? Right...Oh ****!

Ok........I recently bought a DME red label 413 from a 93 I installed in the car and everything works fine it starts, now my question is: Does it matter what chip i want to get for my car.

Take in mind that my car is a 95 some people said my car shouldn't be working but it is! Also i'm reading that the 325i and the 525i have less power then the M3 that's basically where the DME came from.

Should i get another DME? My built date is 8/95 i've even had people tell me i should have a silver label not a red label i am totally confused.
