Default Olympic Luge Rider Killed In Practice Accident

Pretty sad and a totally freak accident.. He came off an out of the course at 90mph in a corner hard right into steel barriers

The track is the fastest track in the world, with competitors reach 140mph at 2 spots on the track

The Olympic committee has said the games will go on and the events on the track will not be cancelled

Olympic Luge Rider Killed In Practice Accident

The CBC reports that Nodar Kumaritashvili, an Olympic luge competitor from the nation of Georgia, has died after sustaining injuries from a practice run crash Friday morning in Whistler, British Columbia. There were videos of the crash available on YouTube, but the IOC had them all taken down claiming it was a copyright violation.
