Before you spend $$ on a pump - pick up a new reservior - and have it replaced when you do the leaking hose. The reservoir has a filter in the bottom of it (molded in - so the only way to replace it is to replace the reservoir - about $35 on ebay..) If the filter is partially plugged up - it can cause the groan noise. If the pump is kaput - it will make noise whenever the engine is running.. not just at full lock (and a bit of a groan at full lock is NOT unusual - it's just the pump working against a fully extended system.)

thanks for the suggestion. It actually groans w/ just a slight turn (either way), not only under full lock. Only groans when the car is in park, when driving and making turns its fine. I will look into that reservoir. Thank you.
