The power gain from headers is actually most notable in the lower midrange 2.5k-4k, as this is where the stock M3 clearly lacks. Top end is certainly beefier, but it is not as dramatic since the engine had such a great top end stock.

The power gain from ESS tune is also most notable in the overall midrange... like 3-6k. The engine feels much gruntier at WOT (which totally eliminates the throttle mapping effect).... as well as amazing part throttle repsonse well into the upper half of the tach. Also, the flat spot above 7k is reduced.... it actually keeps pulling all the way to redline now.

The best part of the ESS tune, for me, was the elimination of the slight hesitation when slamming the throttle open. Now the car goes exactly when you open the throttle, just as a real throttle cable would feel.
