Studs are fundamentally superior to bolts simply due to the fact that they don't undergo torsional stress when you tighten them down like bolts do.

I've had some experience with red loc-tite, and when applied properly to a clean, dry surface, it is incredibly strong. Has anyone actually had them back out when installed with loc-tite and to the TMS recommended 16ft-lbs?

They are titanium because we had a bunch laying around at the shop. I might have some extra to make another full set of titanium studs if anyone is interested.
What type of titanium is it? Commercial grade Ti has a tensile strength of ~63kpsi whereas these Turner studs are 192kpsi and shot-peened. Pretty big difference.

On the track, he used his OEM 18s without spacers, on the street he used the BBS RS-GTs I now have on my car, also without spacers.
Which TCK studs and lug nuts was he using?
I have the TCKProStud60 (vs their Economy wheel stud) and the Steel nuts (vs aluminum).
Had them installed earlier this year; zero issues. No spacers here, either.
The guys at the local indy/race shop have used the TCK Pro/Steel setup for years without issues.

Would be interested in knowing as well. Seems there are some bolts out there that use the same material I'm using. These guys wanted $800 for the set.

All Macht Schnell Competition fasteners are hardened and tempered to strength class 10.9 or 10 according to DIN/ISO standard 898. They meet the statutory requirements of all countries - including the USA.

With that in mind, these Macht Schnell Studs are very strong and they work very well. You can find them here:

Macht Schnell - Competition Stud Conversion Kit (75mm Bullet Tip)
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=2377

Competition Wheel Stud Kit Features:
- 10.9 Grade Strength Class for ultimate strength and safety
- Bullet Tip prevents cross-threading
- Faster and easier wheel changes
- 75mm length allows for most spacer thicknesses (up to +12mm) to be used without changing studs
- Eliminates the need for balancing the wheel while threading in stock wheel lugs
- Black zinc coating for additional strength and corrosion/wear resistance - Allen key insert for easy installation
- Fits most BMW models

If you have any questions please let me know!

Honestly, I am not sure. He hasn't had the car in 3 years now, so it was whatever TCK was selling in 2006. I remember looking at them at the time and they only sold one type then.

So, things at TCK could have changed.
