my 2008 M3 convert got water inside the engine due to flash flood back in July and caused hydrolock to the engine. So the mechanic ordered me a brand new engine and i thought everything was fine. When i drove about 10 miles away from the dealership, the engine suddenly reduced the power output and also the speed. I was able to drive about 50 miles per hours on the highway. Therefore i turned back to the dealership and have them inspected the problems. I did not floor my car when i got out from the dealer. Now they told me
"We found a collapsed lifter on the new engine. We are finishing diagnosis asap… at which point we can further update you as to the timeliness of repair completion".
my car in the shop almost 3 months and they still can not come up with answer. They told BMW North America is analyzed the engine problem and they will get to me as soon as possible. I really don't know what to do now. Does anyone has any suggestion to speed up the investigation?
