I would suggest a non-oiled drop in filter such as aFe one.

Some of those oiled filters come over oiled and might contaminate your MAF sensor.

Couldn't be any worse than the k&n that was in there since before I bought it

Is the aFe particulate filtration on par or better with OEM?

Try cleaning your maf. There was no drop in performance or adverse effects when I got my K&N filter, I've been really happy with it. There should be no reason to ever change it out.

BMC best filter out there IMO
