Default Battery Change...Lots of dash warning lights

I installed a new battery in my 03 and it runs and shifts fine but ive got some warning lights. ABS and SMG failure are on plus the E-brake lamp is solid yellow. Ive only done about 12 miles since the new battery and i had no issues before although it has been sitting for awhile while i tackled other projects. Does it need more miles or am i looking at a problem? Thanks!

You didn't replace the battery while the car was running? Did you possibly put it in backwards and connect it even briefly?
If none of the above. Shut everything off, disconnect the NEG cable for 10 minutes and reconnect. Everything should be good.

Auto zone batteries are useless for these cars

No on putting the battery in the wrong way. Positive and negative have color coded covers on the posts plus it really only fits one way. I'll disconnect it and see what happens.

Auto Zone and Advance Auto batteries are both Johnson Controls batteries, and both as a result are on the low end. Same company that now owns Optima and was seemingly responsible for that brand crapping out.

I'd use them in my lawn mower.

Swell...I assume there is a eye wateringly expensive solution.

I have a Walmart battery in mine and it has been just fine. I would try to disconnect the battery, as mentioned above, first. If the codes are still there then read them and see what's going on. Once you write them down, try to clear them and see if they come back. If they don't, then you can probably write it off as a one-time random deal. Good luck!

Iíve had the same battery you have for a few years now, and I have never run into electrical problems, other than starter going out (not caused by battery).
