My buddies E9X M3 sedan also started fire on an offramp. Was a short near the fuel system at the top of the engine. Good thing the guy behind him had an extinguisher. BMW paid him $3k for the two months it took them to repair it.

Wow, glad you're okay. Must have been devastating to see your car explode in front of your eyes. Those pictures are hard to look at.

3k? thats all.... -.- I would want far more than that, a possible casualty, possible damage to other peoples property and endangerment to others, and for christ sake the car caught on fire what the hell! I wouldn't even want that car any more... bad s*** with that car. Not to mention not having your car for 2 months... the hell
