Hey man. It'll be on for a while since some of the guys hadn't taken delivery of their cams yet.
Now for anyone wanting an alpha N setup. I found a solution for rough cold starts. It will start and work like stock. So this might save someone money who's looking to do so.

Can I assume this is worth doing even if only the cams have been changed (280/272)? Or is it a waste to bother without also swapping the airbox and/or exhaust? Also, on a 2001 does the DME need to be upgraded to an HP version? Thanks!

Of course it's worth it. I made good power with just cams, headers and an exhaust. Even a generic intake will get you very good numbers on a cammed car.
No your ecu doesn't have to be upgraded at all. You do however need a tune.

So I have a e36 S54 with
Karbonius airbox
Supersprint headers, resonated midpipes and race exhaust.
The ECU is flashed with a generic Alpha N tune by the person who did the coding necessary for the swap.

We are still finishing up the car and I don't expect to install cams soon as I want to actually drive it for while once it's finished.
Is it worth getting the current set up tuned and retuning again when I get the cams (288/280) in?

I guess this is up to you. A tune usually yields a good bit of power on healthy engines with a similar mod list and transforms your car, If you want the car dialed in for now then yes. When you retune with cams, if you buy thru this group buy you get a discount. So I guess this is your call

Wait so we can buy now and redeem whenever in the future? I'm a little confused as to how all of this will work.

Sure, within reason lol. I've had customers buy a tune then tune 10 months later when they finish building their car. As long as I'm alive and able haha. But it's up to you if you want to hold up the funds into the tune group buy or not.
Personally I prefer you buy and tune asap, but if you buy it, I'll owe you a tune.

Is this offer only good for those who bought cams from the previous GB? Or can anyone get in on this? I was planning on asking Hassan to tune me when I finally fix my fuel consumption issue and upgrade my headers and move to an E85 setup. Would be awesome to get a discount by buying now!

No restriction on cam source
I just tuned a 288 280 car. I'm gonna let the owner share his experience. But let's just say we broke a record he's an M3 forum member who was having issues with his cams and we finally got his car dialed in making insane power
