Thanks. Another car I'm considering (and probably very close to closing on) has a full Ground Control coilover kit on OEM 18s. I'd like to get something like the Apex ARC-8s to replace the OEMs. Thinking of the below setup:

F: 18 x 9.5 ET35 with 245/40
R: 18 x 10.0 ET25 with 275/35

How well would the above setup work on the E46? Mainly street driving with a little bit of track.

No problem. The above setup would pair well with the GC suspension assuming you have a bit of spring (at least 400/500). I have had a GC s/a kit since 2009 with 450/550 springs and currently run 255/275 pilot super sports. I have run several sets of 245/275 tires with the above setup and it performs well and has excellent road manners.

This is easily the best thread on the web for m3 tire sizes, but I am still at a bit of a loss for my 19" csl rims. I'm a beginning autocrosser, and have seen the selection for 19" wheels made for autocross is pretty tiny.

I really wanted the Dunlop Z2s, but they are only available in 245/40 for the front, and it sounds like for my stock suspension that is just too tall.

The next best option looks like the RE-11s, which come in many more sizes. I'd love to reduce the stagger to 20mm in hopes of reducing understeer.

Could I run 245/35/19 front and 265/35 in the rear? The stock ride height of the M3 is kinda high as sports cars go, the slightly larger rear should have space, and fit the rear rim better? Overall diameter is .5 different, is that close enough?

I guess I am just trying to avoid the 245/35 - 275/30 setup that is uncomfortable on the road, and doesn't change over/understeer due to the ratios being the same.

Not sure if it was mentioned. What's the best tire psi for a square set up 265 all around on pss. For the street? Thanks

Do wider front tires like 265's prematurely wear the steering rack, since its a lot more rubber?

Went with stock sized tire on my car recently. They have good sized sidewall so the ride is not as rough and get more protection for the wheels. Also I like the look of the a stretched tire over bigger tires looking like extending past the wheels. I also get stock handling and braking, which are pretty sufficient for street use, especially a ZCP. That my opinion.

I had a set of ccw wheels made for me,

F: 18x9 +38mm 255/40/18 Pilot super sport
R: 18x10 + 27mm 285/35/18 Pilot super sport

Perfect fitment on a low car, no rubbing, no drama.
