God the LF-A is such a joke, I mean you could have just about anything you want short of a koenigsegg, pagani, or bugatti for the price.
LF-A owners will be collectors.... They will also have owned & own many other astronomically priced cars with plenty of status..
Those buyers would make soulja boy look like a welfare case

I think that's where we are saying the problem lies with this car. Say Lexus could have developed the car for less money and sold them at $150,000 producing many more of them, then the car would almost make sense.

As a collector car, it just doesn't make sense to me. IMO the looks will not stand the test of time and neither will the lack luster performance compared to the competition as it stands now. It's not like it will have a legendary race history either. Of course all we can do is speculate, but that's my opinion. If lexus uses this car as the stepping stone for a lot of mind blowing supercars in the future then I could see it being highly valued, but until then the toyota executives can enjoy their expensive experiment.

^ As I said, neither you, I, nor soulja boy can relate to such buyers of a car that is already sold out internationally...

Instead of addressing anything I said, you just say we can't relate to the buyers. That may be true if they don't put any thought into their purchase, which may be true as I have a theory people tend to lose their minds completely after 100mm net worth. I'd like to know why this will be a collector's car besides the fact that Lexus are charging too much for it and making it too hard to acquire.

I'm sure the are tons of Lexus collector's out there though.

Why should I address anything you said as it's absolutely irrelevant to my point....

K, so people will buy this car because we don't understand them? That shows about the same reasoning as a creationist claiming god as the reason for their existence.

If you haven't noticed, I have been asking you that since post #12, but have yet to see an answer with any logic to support it.

Threaten me all you want, I am only trying to create discussion. I am pretty sure that's the point of this place.

Lexus had began development of the LF-A in 2000 and their intention was to create a supercar, and $150K is not supercar level... Unfortunately for them, the development and costs, which went into it, ended up being much more than they had anticipated. They had initially intended for the production car to be complete by 2005... At that time its acceleration times would have been acceptable at the supercar level, but not in 2010....
Having said that, if I had 100s of $millions in the bank, that Lexus would certainly be in my collection and I'd speculate that it would be a collector's item.

The LF-A is just the modern BMW M1. A total POS* that isn't at all worth it's price, but will be collectible. There are at least 100 better alternatives to the LF-A when considering perfomance/status/value/etc.

* POS may be a bit harsh, but you get the idea
