Air is being channeled towards the rotor. I'm not sure how the hose system does anything different.

I noticed a lot of these pics don't have foglight brackets. do you think any of the ducts on pegasus or racerwholesale would work with the foglight bracket?
I just got my M3 and one of the foglights is broken.
Rather than replace the foglight, I'd like to get a duct in there. I would prefer to use a bolt/screw to mount it to the foglight bracket.
Sound plausible?

Your best bet, outside of custom fabrication, would be a Hamann style fog light insert. There are a lot of them on eBay.

Yes, with the Hamman style ones you can keep the fog lights if you wish. Just Google them and you will find plenty of pics, including on eBay.

If you are looking for solutions that allow you to delete the foglight completely and run a duct, Turner Motorsports and Bimmerworld have that available.

TO keep or not to keep the fogligh - currently going through the same quandary...thinking about deleting rather than trying to work around keeping them...

With the ducting kits that are on the market (BimmerWorld and Turner) the air is forced to the rotor hub forcing it up through the veins which cools both the faces of the rotor from the inside. I believe the scoop method above would only cool the inner face.

here is what I did and have been very happy. Although I do have one cercern I'd like to hear input on...

1) Hamman knock offs like $20 or $30
2) BW backing plates
3) Ducting similar to what this guy did. I run the hose right from the hamman style duct, cut up the stock duct to get into the undershield and then exit the undershield near the front roll bar. http://www.davidparis.org/coupe/brakeducting.html

It works great and full lock with 265's is not an issue.

CONCERN: I have effectively blocked any air flow that might have come into the intake via the drivers side duct. I believe this was mentioned earlier with regards to getting air for a S/C. I don't have a S/C so do I need to be concerned about getting air from here for the intake? And if so, how?
