The Voyager 1 probe, 36 years after launch and 11+ billion miles later, becomes the first man-made object to reach interstellar space (i.e. leave our solar system).

Amazing that we're still able to communicate with this probe and use it for science after 36 years in space and being so far away.

One-way communication with Voyager1 takes 17 hrs 23 mins 07 secs (at the speed of light, obviously).

“A still camera on a sound trigger captured this intriguing photo of an airborne frog as NASA’s LADEE spacecraft lifts off from Pad 0B at Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The photo team confirms the frog is real and was captured in a single frame by one of the remote cameras used to photograph the launch. The condition of the frog, however, is uncertain.”
