What an ugly car. Why do auto makers still insist on making every hybrid or fully electric car ugly? Learn form Tesla. Make a great looking electric car and it will sell. No need to be "different".
It's almost like it has to be a conspiracy. Like maybe there is something in the car industry that prevents them from making electric/hybrid cars normal looking. I have always questioned this. I mean, it's not like they are something's kinda bad, they are like fly-in-your-face ugly. You can't tell me that only 1 car company came up with the radical idea of making an electric car look good. I mean, it's so obvious that there must be a conspiracy

Ive been thinking about this since the first Prius came out. And I have two theories behind that, maybe it's a combination or the two.

First, electric car prices are astronomical compared to gasoline car prices. If the car is shaped like any old car,how are you going to convince the buyer that the electric company cost $10k more than the gasoline compact?

My second theory is that unlike tesla, A big company like Toyota or BMW or GM has to protect their gasoline sales too, otherwise they jeopardize their core business. So the electric offering has to look drastically different from their normal product until people are warmed up to the idea that, like many hybrids today. They share the same shape as many other cars.
