Got my Note 4 last week. I have to say I'm not impressed. It seems like I downgraded from my Note 3. WTF happened to the menu button? I don't need a silly digital rolodex. My phone is completely flaky. When changing from one known wifi network to another I have to reboot. And when I reboot about a third of the app icons I have neatly filed in folders spill back out in the menu.
I hope I just got a bad phone but if not Samsung has a loser on its hands (and I've had 6 Samsung phones in a row).

Must be a dud. I've had a long string of Samsung phones also and they never gave me problems. Get it swapped out.

It sounds like you got a bad phone. I haven't heard of those problems normally. As for the menu button, I wish Samsung would just go with the android standard and be done with it. Menu is still there, but it works differently. Similar to the difference on the GS4 and GS5. The latest generation is a bit closer to the standard, except the left and right buttons are reversed.

Well, I missed the 50% off sale on Android phones over the holiday. For some reason I thought the sale ended today, but it was actually the 31st. I refuse to pay $299 for something I could have purchased at half price just a few days ago, so I'm waiting for the next sale or price drop.

Any clue as to how long I'll be waiting?

New Android phones are released every 42 minutes so it shouldn't be long

That's what I'm thinking. Hopefully it wont take more than a month or so.

Just keep checking on slick deals. If it's a popular Android phone, there are people tracking the pricing.

Other thing is to price match at Best Buy from anyone else.

as far as OS is concerned, I'm all android over IOS.

but i'm surprise android phone makers don't learn a thing or two from apple. you start with the aesthetic because that is what attracts most buyers. e.g. why on earth Samsung still put the stupid brand "samsung" right on the front of the phone. it is distracting as hell and cheapen the look of the phone significantly.

I say leave the front completely clean of any logo/brand, put a big solid S logo in the back. then small samsung galaxy on the bottom. incorporate galaxy alpha metal design to the rest of the range such as s6 and note 5 and keep 1 simple cohesive design. redesign the physical home button. the current home button is just too ugly for my taste and too small for finger print to work properly. i rather see one good design than a dozen cheap looking designs. samsung...step your design game up.
