Since 99.99999% of new car owners finance. Would roll the extra $20k into a G550 and have a higher resale that basically makes the price difference a wash.

the GL550 just doesn't have the present.

Land Rover just needs to go into the museum business. Its vehicles would attract the masses and generate revenue; also never need repairs.

While I do not like driving behind any giant SUV due to it blocking all view of traffic ahead, my buddy has a Sequoia, a relative of the Lexus; I will say that it rides nice; it's really quiet; there's loads of space; it coddles you and is very relaxing to be in. I can see the attraction to these trucks.

The LX has a lot of things going for it but styling is not one of them....

Neither is 3rd row seating space. I hate 3rd rows which sit on the floor

Whereas the GL550 have ample space in the 3rd row

Best in class for my wants, aside from that useless back seat. I probably would take the Yukon...

Definition of "proper maintenance" between Lexus and anything German is laughable.

Lexus 3rd row seating is designed to be easily removed. I'd hate to have to remove the GL 3rd row seats, that's assuming they're removable.

Unfortunately, removable or fold to the side seats are pointless for the sake of comfort. The GX470's 3rd row is about the same and though a mid-sized SUV it has more interior room than the LX470. It's the LX's heavy duty frame which takes away from interior room.
